Apollonia is the main archeological and historical site of the Sharon region, located on a cliff-top overlooking the Herzliya coastline. Apollonia was destroyed to its foundations by the Mamalukes, and today visitors can walk among the ruins of ancient commercial and industrial centers, and a port that supplied the entire southern area of the Sharon region.
